Waiting Patiently...
11 days away from Kallyn's due date. Her arrival is so close that it almost enough to drive us crazy with excitement and anxiety. When will she come? Will she be healthy? Will Abby be healthy? What will see look like? What will it feel like to hold her for the first time?
We have been praying for this moment for so long, it is hard to believe her arrival could happen any day now. We are like two kids on Christmas Eve...waiting patiently for the arrival of most perfect gift...
Kallyn, take your time and make your entrance into this world when you are good and ready. Tonight would work for us :)

Giving Thanks

Today, I was honored to be invited to Saint Joan of Arc Church for "Special Persons Day" by Mercedes Bickel. Today's mass was focused on giving thanks for the special people in our lives.
As Kallyn's birth nears, I am so thankful to be on this wonderful journey with Abby and to be surrounded by such loving friends and family.
Thank you Mercedes and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Yes We Can!
11-04-2008
This date will forever be etched into my mind. A day I never thought I would experience in my lifetime. A day where Americans stood in long lines to vote...A day where Americans had election parties as if it were the Superbowl. A day where Americans screamed out loud once the winner was announced and danced in their living rooms as well as the streets. A day when we took a giant leap forward...for ALL Americans.
I can't wait to tell Kallyn where we were when President Barack Obama was elected. How her moms played a small part in history. I can't wait to tell her how proud we were to be Americans. How it gave us a glimmer of HOPE that she would be born into a better world because Americans believed in each other again. How we were inspired to make a difference and we could be the voice of change. I will tell her about how her mother and I held each other, celebrated with our friends and cried...

What's in a Name?

Abby and I were sitting in our overstuffed chair one evening looking through a baby book of names I picked up. I would say, "Abby how about ----?" Abby would say, "Um, no." She would say, Erin, how about ----?" and I would say, "Um, no.". Until we came upon the name Callen. We both stopped and didn't say no. We read a little more...
Callen: Gaelic origin meaning Powerful in battle. Well, that sounds like our little girl! But, we weren't sold on the idea yet...and we wanted it to have more personality and orginality...hence the name Kallyn. What does it mean if you look it up in some baby book? Nothing. What does her name mean to us? It means, The world

Mamas for Obama
With every passing day, we can't help but dream about the day our little girl will arrive. We also have a deeper understanding of our responsibility to help make the world a better place her. We believe that OBAMA is the Change we need.

Baby's Room - Almost Finished
We are almost finished with the Baby's room. We want to add her name to the wall, once we decide on it. We are leaning towards, Collen Rose Vincent or Kallyn Marie Vincent. We might have to wait until we meet her to decide.
